In a powerful show of unity, women with disabilities in the Western Region joined Human Rights and Development Services (HURDS) in a march advocating for stronger support for survivors of domestic violence.

Mavis Kwarteng, a leader representing women with disabilities in the region, spoke through an interpreter, highlighting the challenges they face. “Our stories are often unheard,” she said. “We experience frequent violations, but many of these incidents never come to light.”

This march was not only a call for visibility but also a demand for concrete action. Participants urged an increase in the Domestic Violence Fund to ensure that all survivors, including women with disabilities, can access the protection and support they deserve.

HURDS continues to work tirelessly to amplify the voices of marginalized groups and push for policies that safeguard the rights of every survivor of abuse. By standing together, they remind society that justice and support must be inclusive.
